The NJ HIB Law on bullying is known as the “Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act”, also referred to as HIB (harassment, bullying and intimidation), was passed on November 22, 2010. The act in the statute of “harassment, intimidation or bullying” is defined as “any gesture, any written, verbal or physical act or any electronic communication…; that is reasonably perceived as being motivated either by any actual or perceived characteristic.” The NJ HIB law goes on to define school property and the procedural aspects of reporting such an incident.
