Edison is in Middlesex County, NJ. Approximately 17,000 students attend the ten schools, of whom approximately 1700 are classified as special needs. Less than 10 special needs students are sent out-of-district, as the district has incorporated many out-of-district offerings within the public schools’ curricula.
The annual budget is approximately $262 million, of which the local taxpayers raise approximately $125 million. Approximately $32 million is for Special Education . Per pupil cost is in excess of $13,000 annually.
